Q: My heat pump is blowing cold air in the morning should I call for service?

A: After a cold night, the heat pump condenser will go into defrost. You may see steam and it will more than likely blow less than warm air. This is normal. The unit will defrost itself in it’s defrost cycle and then it will blow warm air. If this is bothersome to you, consider auxiliary heat strips for your heat pump unit for those cold winter mornings.

Q: How often should I change my filter?

A: A regular 1 or 2-inch filter needs to be changed monthly. Filters are designed to catch dirt, debris, pollen, and dander that exists inside your home. A 5-inch filter can be changed every 6 months.

Q: My unit is brand new so why do I need to have an ESA?

A: Regular maintenance is required to keep your unit running to peak capacity. If your parts fail during the warranty term due to lack of maintenance, the manufacturer will not honor your warranty. Why take that chance? Besides, would you buy a brand new car and not change the oil?

Q: Does my ESA include service calls?

A: No, it does not, but it gives you priority service and a discounted service call in addition to discount on any repairs that may be needed.

Q: What do you charge by the hour?

A: We do not charge by the hour. There is a diagnostic fee to look at your unit and then we give you an accurate price to complete the repair. No matter how long it takes us to perform the work required you pay the same price which gives you peace of mind and saves you money. In addition, our technicians are not paid commissions to find problems with your unit. There is no monetary incentive whatsoever on their part to find something wrong with your unit.

Q: I have an extended warranty so why do I need to have an ESA?

A: Extended warranties vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, however, if a unit fails due to lack of maintenance, your warranty is voided. Most major components are covered under extended warranty, but be sure to check your extended warranty paperwork to read the details. Maintenance is not part of your warranty and your equipment is a major investment for most homeowner’s. Take care of your investment with an Energy Savings Agreement.
